A. Shirley (Ridley) Golbranson, age 87, entered into eternal life on June 29. 2024. Shirley was born and raised in Braintree where she met and married her beloved late husband Carl E. Golbranson. They lived a wonderful 20-year retirement in the Florida Keys in the winter and summers in Plymouth. Later on, she moved to Auburndale, Florida, and Quincy.
Shirley worked for several years in retail. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, exercising in the pool, and taking walks. She was the devoted mother of Steven Golbranson and his wife Laurie of Plymouth, Lori Flaherty and her husband Arthur of The Villages, FL, and Eric Golbranson and his wife Ellen of West Roxbury. Beloved sister of Mildred Mahar of Halifax, Ronald Ridley of Peabody, Linda Thompson, and her husband Richard of Erwin, NC.. She is predeceased by her brother Robert Ridley, his wife Marlene, and her twin brother James F. Ridley. She was the loving grandmother of Alyssa, Steven, Matthew, Erica, Daniel, and C.J. and leaves several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington Street, Weymouth on Saturday, July 27 from 8 until 9:45 am. Funeral service in the funeral home at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Service followed by burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy
I am so saddened to learn that my sister-in-law Shirley has passed. We had a great relationship and though I haven’t seen her for a long time I think of her often. Unfortunately I am wheelchair bound and living in a nursing home. Please give my sympathy to Shirley’s family. Thank you.
