Weymouth-   Allan M. McLaughlan, age 83, entered into eternal life on March 4, 2019. Allan was born and raised in Scotland and has lived in Weymouth for many years.     Mr. McLaughlan was a shipwright at the General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy.    Allan served in the British Army with the Engineer Corps. He belonged to the British Legion. Beloved husband of Winifred (Murray) McLaughlan.  Devoted father of Francis Allan McLaughlan and his wife Margo of Weymouth, Caroline McLaughlan of Kearney, New Jersey, and Allison Haskell and her partner Christopher Cogswell of Hanson. Beloved brother of Anna Murchie and Walter  McLaughlan.   Allan was pre-deceased by seven brothers and sisters. Loving grandfather of Heather, Allison, Andrea, Andrew, Kevin, Kaitlin and Paisley and great-grandfather to Benjamin, Mya, Dante, and Jessa .   Funeral  from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St.  Weymouth on  Friday, March 8at 9:30 AM  Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited for Visiting hours on Thursday  from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial is private.   If desired, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, Ma 02370

    Condolences to my friend and sports colleague Al on the passing of your father. What a great life is described in this obituary, he sounds like a True Scot. I can picture someone like your Dad being 100% at home in that great Harland and Wolff Shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland! May he Rest In Peace.
