My Uncle Earnie was the kindest soul I’ve ever known. He has lived his life as an example to me of how to appreciate those things (the only things) that really matter in life: Kindness; Dedication to Family; Honesty; Humility; and a strong Work Ethic were his guiding principals. He was never judgmental, or embittered by the actions of others. Instead he would would offer compassion and forgiveness against any transgression. He would never boast nor look down on any person, and he always made time for me and my siblings even while raising three children of his own. I’ve watched him overcome all of the harshness and difficulties that life throws at us, and emerge unfazed, even stronger than before. He’s taught me that despite life’s complexities, we can live simply, and be rewarded with a rich and meaningful life, full of love. It is one of my deepest regrets that I’ve not spent more time with him in these latter years, but I’m happy to know that he’s never been alone, nor lonely thanks to the love and caring support of his family. He’s made a significant mark on this world through his children, grand children and their children as well. Surely there is a special place reserved in Heaven for a man who has lived his life such as this.
He will be remembered fondly.
