Hubbard Esq., Francis X., of Marshfield, Mass., formerly of Braintree, went to eternal rest on August 7, 2022. Survived by his beloved wife Monique D. (Fallon) Hubbard.
Born on July 17, 1956, to Charles Thomas “Tom” Hubbard and Mary (Clooney) Hubbard. Survived by his dear eight brothers: Tom (Maria), Jim (Mary), Ed (Karen), John (Kathy), Joe (Karen), Rich (Tracy), Dan (Kathy), and Jerry. Fond uncle of 31 Hubbard nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He is also survived by his in-laws, Bob and Marie Fallon of Barrington, Ill., as well as his sisters-in-law, Michelle (Michael) Sullivan and Cheryl (Matt) Priesbe; his brother-in-law, Bob Jr. (Carlye) Fallon, and five nieces and nephews, all of Glenview, Ill.
Proud godfather to five of his 36 nieces and nephews: Tom Hubbard, Maggie Hubbard, Kevin Hubbard, MaryClaire Hubbard, and Michael Priesbe.
Frank grew up in Braintree as one of nine children—all boys. He graduated from Boston College in 1978 and earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 2004, graduating magna cum laude.
He began his professional career working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ then-Governor Edward J. King, serving at the State House as Special Assistant to the Governor. After leaving public service, Frank’s entrepreneurial spirit took flight. He opened his own management consulting firm, Beacon Consulting. While traveling for work, he met his future bride, the former Monique Fallon, at Allstate Insurance Co. in Glenview, Ill. They married in Chicago on May 27, 1995, and he brought her ‘home’ to her roots in Marshfield.
Frank’s voracious love of learning and pursuit of intellectual challenges drew him to pursue a law degree at age 45. After graduating with a J.D. from Suffolk Law School, Frank embarked on his legal career. First, as an attorney with Sweder & Ross and subsequently, opened his own law practice on the South Shore.
Over the years, he served as Chairman of the Marshfield Zoning Board of Appeals. Frank’s Catholic faith was important to him and guided him throughout his life. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and Baptism coordinator at his local parish.
Frank loved books, travel, spending time at the Marshfield beach house, and cheering on his BC Eagles, Patriots and Red Sox. During their 27 years of marriage, Frank and Monique built two houses together. Frank had a green thumb, was meticulous with his landscape designs, and took great pride in his gardens.
Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home 100 Washington St. Weymouth on Friday August 12 at 10 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Sacred Heart Church, 72 Washington St., Weymouth Landing at 11 Am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4 until 8 Pm.
Frank’s nephew, Fr. Joseph Hubbard, will preside. Frank will be laid to rest alongside his parents at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

My sincere condolences to Frank’s wife Monique and to the Hubbard family and the Fallon family. It was my friend Frank Hubbard who introduced me to Opus Dei when we were both students at Boston College in the late 70’s. We attended evenings of recollection on Friday nights together at Elmbrook Study Center in Cambridge. I eventually “whistled” becoming a numerary member of “The Work” before answering the “call” to priesthood several years later in 2004 when I was ordained for the Diocese of Fall River, MA. Thank you Frank for helping me take that first big step on the way to priesthood.
