Joseph P. Murphy of Dorchester, age 87, a great advocate of Jesus Christ, entered into eternal life on June 3, 2023. Joe was a lifelong Dorchester native. Mr. Murphy served in the U.S. Navy. He was a firefighter for the City of Boston. Prior to that he was a U.S. Postal worker. He was a great beloved son of the late George and Agnes Murphy, formally of Mayo, Ireland. Beloved brother to Claire Collins of Braintree and her late husband Herbert, Walter and his wife Maureen of Marblehead, Francis and his wife Francine of Quogue Long Island, N.Y. and the late George Murphy and his late wife Nancy. Also survived by Longtime Brother in Christ Thomas Good of Dorchester, formerly of Milton. Beloved uncle to 10 nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St. Weymouth landing on Thursday June 8 from 4 until 7 PM. followed by a funeral service at 7 PM. Procession departing from the funeral Home on Friday, June 9 at 8:30 AM for a committal service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 10 AM.
