It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin J. Higgins “Higgy”. Kevin, age 65, a lifelong native of Weymouth, left us on June 15, 2025. Higgy was known throughout Weymouth as a true original — a proud Harley owner and rider whose love for the open road was matched only by his loyalty to family and friends. His roots ran deep within the community where he was always ready with a helping hand, a story, or ride for anyone in need. Kevin’s passion for his Harley was legendary and he found his greatest joy cruising the highways, wind at his back with his fellow riders by his side.
Kevin had many different careers, ending as a laborer for the Town of Weymouth D.P.W. as well as a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Weymouth and the Loyal Order of Moose in Braintree. Higgy’s unmistakable laugh, quick wit, and generous spirit made him a beloved brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend to many.
Beloved son of the late Will Higgins and Tess (MacDougall) and brother of Tommy. Beloved brother of Karen Higgins of Weymouth, Michael and his wife Pam of Scituate, Bill and his wife Laura of Marshfield, and Ellen Whitman of Weymouth. Uncle to Colin, Kate, Courtney, Joe, Zach, and Eric. He will be missed by countless lifelong friends. Memorial visiting hours at the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth on Sunday, June 22 from 2 until 6 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
