Tom was the King of the Block full of early immigrants on Dudley Street (Roxbury) in the 1950″s. He and my Sister (Barbara) married young and raised their large Catholic family persevering through both hard and happy times for nearly 6 decades. During his late years Tom and I sang Old Irish tunes together and reminisced about the Boston we knew so well. And now that his final wish has been granted, he’ll rejoin the Love of his Life in eternity. Rest peacefully, Good Brother.

My parents were residents at Allerton House and during my visits I got to meet Tom and get to know him a bit. I loved talking to him about my home remodeling projects (disasters) and he would share painting and construction tips with me. He was always smiling, very cheerful, and was quick with a wave from across the Allerton House dining room. I am so glad I got to meet him. A true kind and caring person.
